Currently, U.S. Forces have no radar capability to detect and track activity under foliage. Similarly, the Department of Homeland Security has limited capability to detect and track personnel and vehicles in foliated areas of the northern and southern U.S. borders. FORESTER is an airborne sensor system that provides standoff and persistent wide-area surveillance of dismounted troops and vehicles moving through foliage. Designed and developed by SRC to fly on the A160 Hummingbird unmanned helicopter, FORESTER is one-of-a-kind technology providing the warfighter with all weather, day-night target detection and tracking capability in real-time for actionable intelligence.
